simply the group is the company behind multiple successful lifestyle brands including simply thaisimply life, the Party People and the Village. The brand concept is Modern China, defined by our signature blend of Asian tradition and contemporary sophistication.

A cosmopolitan brand for a cosmopolitan world!

simply thai

What started as a secret hideaway in the French Concession in 1999 is now listed by The Zagat Review as one of the most popular restaurants in Shanghai. While the cuisine is authentically Thai, the ambience is undeniably cosmopolitan. Repeatedly voted Best Thai Restaurant by Shanghai Tatler, Modern Weekly, That's Shanghai and City Weekend - simply thai has managed its magic formula consistently, even with four exciting venues adding up to 1000 seats combined.

simply life

Trendsetters in Shanghai first discovered our products in 2000 when our petite lifestyle boutique caught their attention with an inventive use of Chinese design elements in modern homeware. To feed the growing appetite for international lifestyle, simply life expanded in 2002 to the chic retail hub at Xintiandi. Now our store stands on Madang Lu of Xintiandi, reinventing the concept of Modern China every season with designer furniture, furnishings and homeware.

the Party People

With a 500 square meter central kitchen second to none, we are the first full-serviced caterer to possess a catering license. As Shanghai joins the ranks of New York and London as the playground of the international elite, gala events, corporate banquets, cocktail and dinner parties have become a raging trend. The city's first professional caterer has been feeding the elite in personalized style since 2000 and the Party People became part of simply the group in 2004.

The Village

A village that will soothe your senses and indulge your taste for the beautiful, the interesting and the original.
In old Shanghai, it was said that the British could teach you about business, but in the French Concession, you would be taught how to live. The Village, with its delightfully eclectic mix of shops, a Parisian bakery, tea salon and spa, continues that tradition. Located on leafy Dongping Road, on the site of the esteemed Soong clan’s family chapel (the glamorous Soong sisters, who each married the era’s most powerful men, were the toast of old Shanghai), The Village is designed to pamper, engage and indulge.
